I checked in to a suite at the Little Haven Hotel in Newcastle’s South Shields to check out how it scrubbed up…
First impressions
The hotel is a short drive from South Shields’ Metro station and, as I drove in, I was impressed by its location.
Staff were very friendly and service was quick on check-in.

Comfort
Staying here felt like a home from home and nothing seemed like too much trouble for the staff.
Beds were comfortable and the hotel also offers three suites which offer a double bedroom, a separate lounge area with TV, bathroom (with a huge bath and separate shower), plenty of facilities (iron, trouser press, tea & coffee etc) and two balconies offering views of both sides of the hotel.

Quality
You can tell a hotel offers quality when even the locals pop in for a cuppa – and I met quite a few people who said they regularly meet friends for lunch.
Rooms were modern, clean and appeared to be well looked after.

Affordability
The standard rate in a standard twin or double is £79 Monday-Friday and £74.50 on Saturday & Sunday, including breakfast.

Service
Great service from all the staff who seem happy to help with requests.
Good to know…
The hotel also offers wedding receptions and meeting rooms. Also, if it’s a nice day take a walk outside to take in the river views.
