Following February’s crazy busy month, my March blogging month has been a little quieter, although the vlogging side of things has been a bit busier.
I’ve had a few collaborations, learnt some new things and had a couple of epic fails. As usual I’ll start with the negatives as I always like to end on a positive…
Epic fail number 1
I went to see Strictly Come Dancing The Live Tour in February with one of my besties and we loved it. I even filmed it with a view to getting it on my YouTube channel.
The good news is that I did a great job with all the epic footage I took.
And the epic fail is that I’ve not uploaded it. There’s a very good reason for this: I had to clear my phone of storage (it was running out!) so I sent all the clips to my MacBook with a view to putting the video together on iMovie. Except I haven’t.
I have a little confession to make: I actually put all my videos that you see together on an app on my iPhone 6 called Videorama (I really like it!) and then, once saved, I upload to the iMovie app on my iPhone to add music. I’ve done this since I started vlogging and if truth be told, I don’t know how to do it any other way! So now that my Strictly Come Dancing clips are on my MacBook I just need time to work out how to get them off!
Epic fail number 2
Guess what my second epic fail is? I’ve epic failed on the ebook. I’ve written the darn thing of course…but I’ve failed to get the images and cover ready and using it as an opt-in. AGAIN.
I think I’ve going to need to turn to Fiverr for a bit of help on this. Hopefully I’ll have some better news soon. Actually, if I stop promising it will happen, I think it will just happen. So, you won’t hear from me again until it’s launched – and then all you lovely people reading this can quickly sign up to receive the newsletter to get your mitts on a copy!
Collaborations
It’s been a busy month for decorating this month. Firstly I chose some wallpaper from Inspired Wallpaper to take my daughter’s bedroom from ‘toddler to tween’ She absolutely loves the results!
I also updated by bannister with the help of Everlong Chalk Paint. Many peope assume chalk paint can only be used on small projects, but we managed to paint our whole bannister and spindles with some great results.
Finally, Cox & Cox got in touch to ask if I’d like to try out something from their latest range. Of course I couldn’t say no, and I ended up choosing this magazine rack to take my office from ‘tramp’ to ‘vamp’!
Guest posts & opportunities
This month I’ve been in touch with a few guest opportunities. The first I did was with the lovely Caroline from Girl About Townhouse, where I answered some questions about my home (and my fave room!). I love Caroline’s blog – she offers some practical interior tips (as well as free printables) and I think her style is great.
Kerry from Blissful Domestication also published my guest post for her ‘Get In Your Garden’ series. I wrote about birdhouses as I’m mildly obsessed with them!
On Meet Other Mums platform I published a post about when you’re ill and you still have to carry on and look after the kids, while over on BritMums I published my first post as the Shopping Hauls Round-up Editor, It’s Called Retail Therapy For A Reason.
Blog learning
At the end of January I signed up for Aby Moore’s ‘Blog Accelerator Course’, which was six weeks long. The course has now finished (it went sooo quickly!) but it was great as it made me focus on where I want to take the blog.
I’m a little way behind on where I’d like to be with the course (working full time doesn’t help!) but I’m getting there. I’d highly recommend Aby’s courses to help develop your blog – she offers super practical advice and is like a real version of Wonder Woman…! You can visit her blog at You Baby Me Mummy.
My channel
Meanwhile, I started a new YouTube playlist called #BlogLife where I chat about what I’ve been up to as a blogger and vlogger as I thought it would be a nice idea to share my experiences visually.

Vlog purchase
I came across this LED lamp in B&M Stores recently. It has a 180-degree swivel head and costs £9.99, with an RRP of £19.99
I know some vloggers use light rings, but I thought, for a fraction of the price, this would suit me when I’m doing my vlogs. So far it has worked a treat.

Conference call
I attended #BlogConLDN – the first event which took place at the QEII Centre in London. I word my t-shirt ‘I Like Big Blogs And I Cannot Lie’, which seemed to go down a storm. You can read what it was like here – and I also managed to do a video on the event.
The Blogging Month At A Glance
What was great? I really enjoyed going to BlogConLDN – that was probably one of the highlights of the month and I’m thrilled to have been featured on other people’s blog sites too.
What wasn’t? Not being able to get to grips with iMovie on the MacBook!
Goals for April: I hope to get ahead on my blogging schedule. At the moment I tend to write and publish straight away – usually late at night. If I can start working ahead, it will mean that I’m not crazy stressed rushing round like a mad woman most of the time! That’s the hope anyway.

Wow I still don’t know how you manage to do it all! I love Aby’s courses, although I’m way behind on the ‘Let’s Get Visible’ one (due to the house move and lack of WiFi!), but I’m determined to catch up! Look forward to catching up with you soon too!
Thanks Cal! I’m behind a bit too (on the Accelerator course), but we do what we can don’t we?!

I always love reading these ‘behind the scenes’ posts. It sounds like you’ve had another great month and I’m looking forward to seeing that vlog once it’s up. Thank you so much for your kind words about my blog too. I have exactly the same goal for April too.
Thanks Caroline – doing these posts spurs me on as well so it’s a double bonus!
