Have you heard of Flying Tiger Copenhagen? You might have seen it on a High Street near you (with ‘Tiger’ signage)  offering all sorts of wonderful nick-nacks.

In fact, it’s my go-to shop for all kinds of events – kids’ birthday parties, stocking fillers for Christmas, unusual birthday gifts, Father’s Day and Mother’s Day trinkets…the list goes on.

But Tiger also does something very clever; it offers products that are not just geared to one type of consumer.

And to illustrate the point, Flying Tiger Copenhagen kindly sent me some samples – a Wooden Egg Cup for £1, a Wooden Butter Board Knife for £3 and a Wooden Paper Towel Holder.

As a parent of young kids you might be thinking that they are cheap enough to buy to let your kids go crazy on the crafting with them; and I know that in about six years – if my eldest goes off to university – then these are also affordable kitchen buys for his student digs – a win-win!

I’ve actually got a Flying Tiger Copenhagen store locally to me and whenever I’m shopping in town, I’ll make a point of popping in.

Why? Well, the company also does a great job in offering lots of seasonal products and there always seems to be something new in store every week.

Here’s some of my favourite products I spotted when I was last there…

The excavation kit

Both my kids have had a bit of a fascination with excavation kits. You can usually pick them up in museum or attraction gift shops and they are usually quite a lot of money (upwards of £4).

So when I popped into Tiger and saw these kits for just £2 – I knew I was on to a winner. Yes, they’re a bit messy (top tip – put the kit onto a tray as it will contain most of the mess and use a vac to hoover up the remainder!), but they’re also great fun – and they’ll keep the kids entertained for quite a while!

The trendy cactus

I’m not sure why, but succulents and cacti are the ‘in thing’ at the moment and you’ll find them on sale up and down the High Street.

So if you’re looking to capitalise on the interior trend, then look no further than Tiger which is selling three of them together for just £4 – why not keep one for yourself and decorate the bases of the other two to give as a gift for someone? You can use washi tape (also available in store) to decorate the pots.

The mini watering can

I have to admit, I’m a sucker for pint-sized goodies and Tiger is a shop that’s great at offering miniature goodies.

In the past I’ve picked up their mini shopping trolley and mini shopping basket to display fruit in my kitchen – and they’ve both had people asking where they came from!

I spotted this mini watering can in store just recently – with summer just around the cover, it’s time to get the kids outdoors!

My daughter loves helping with weeding and watering, so these watering cans are ideal for tiny hands. And best of all, they’re a snip at just £2.  At that price you can afford to pick up a few.

The hair turban

I picked the hair turban to feature in this post to illustrate the fact that Flying Tiger Copenhagen doesn’t only gimmicky goods – they are also very practical too.

I’ve seen hair turbans for sale in a selection of supermarkets and others stores, but never for the bargain price of £1.

I picked up one for myself and one for my daughter – it’s great for after swimming lessons when her hair is wringing wet and I’m trying to avoid getting her clothes wet!

Hair turbans are also great for when you want to treat yourself to a hair mask or conditioning treatment – or just ideal for when you are not yet ready to blow-dry your hair.
