2017 Home Trends: What’s In Store At Sainsbury’s?

Sainsburys 2017

If you’ve popped into your local Sainsbury’s lately, you might have noticed new home products gracing the shelves.

Well, we’ve got news for you. This supermarket giant isn’t silly; it knows the up and coming trends for homeware and décor in 2017 and has jumped on the bandwagon to capitalise on demand.

The good news for us consumers is that we can have on-trend interiors for less – exactly what I’ve been hankering after (and chatting about) for years!

Late last year I was invited to an exclusive blogger event. The ‘Sainsbury’s spring/summer 2017 collection preview’ in London to see what new products are launching this spring and summer, with the first phase of its product launches now starting to appear in stores nationwide. And they don’t disappoint.

So let’s have a look what’s new for this year.

Overall there are six new design themes:

Restoration

Restoration is inspired by the rise of the hipster and the edgy industrial aesthetics of South London – from Brick Lane to Borough Market.Sainsburys 2017

Pops of pillar box red complement the monochrome tones and graphic prints for the home collection, as well as a comprehensive range of stationery.

Woven checks and stripes soften a bedroom look, while layering throws and cushions, with mix and match patterns, perfect this contemporary style. Utility and cookshop essentials are also available’ for the bathroom and kitchen using hard working materials such as enamel, aluminium and oak.

As an example, this Bulldog Lampcosts £28.

Shore

Sainsburys 2017

Shore encompasses the seaside lifestyle with organic forms, tactile textures and a nautical colour palette of blues and coral.sainsburys 2017

Designed exclusively by the in-house team at Sainsbury’s, patterns and characters that are synonymous with the coast are seen across home accessories, tableware, bathroom, bedding and cookshop.

This Solar Fisherman White Lantern costs £16.

Butterfly House

sainsburys 2017Butterfly House exudes sophisticated glamour, inspired by the world of fashion.sainsburys 2017

Opulent colours of gold, deep purples and blues adorn textiles, home accessories, tableware and stationery.

Vibrant watercolour florals and elegant butterflies are digitally printed and embroidered onto bedding and cushions using luxurious velvets and cotton sateen.

As an example, this Large Lily Candle costs £16.

Ethereal

sainsburys 2017Tipped to be one of the more popular ranges by one of the staff I spoke to at the blogger event, the Ethereal collection mixes Scandinavian mark making and mid-century patterns with paste
l hues across the home ranges.sainsburys 2017

The collection uses premium materials such as marble and brass that bring sophistication to the home as well as desk accessories and stationery products. And we all like a bit of stationery don’t we?

Tactile textures and a mix of patterns are used for tableware and texture is also key for the bedroom, with quilted throws and embroidered cushions.

This Raw Base Cereal Bowl costs £3.50.

Everyday Luxury

sainsburys 2017

Design led products is at the heart of the Everyday Luxury offering – from bedding to tableware and bathroom, delivering high quality finishes, sumptuous silky soft fabrics and elegant design suitable for everyday use.sainsburys 2017

New designs include the exclusive collection of faux florals with Jane Packer which complements the Everyday Luxury look, as does a range of own-brand home fragrance.

This Jane Packer Succulent in a White Geo Pot costs £8.

Hinterland

Warm earthy tones or mustard yellows, tan leather and tribal red are the backdrop for mixed Sgraffito patterns that feature across textiles and home accessories in this theme.

Sainsburys 2017Natural materials such as terracotta, carved mango wood and brass complement the trend, while playful giraffe accessories and chevron prints create an authentic African setting.Sainsburys 2017

This Hinterland Round Platter costs just £8.

So, it’s a big high five to Sainsbury’s for getting these current and emerging home trends spot on.

And if their spring and summer collection is anything to go by, they’ll be rocking the look for autumn and winter.

In the meantime, and with something to suit everyone’s taste, hop on down to Sainsbury’s to check out the new ranges.

I say this with a word of warning: visit after payday as you might find it almost impossible to leave empty-handed.

Hello. I am looking for the sainsburys ethereal raw base cereal bowl. I rarely am obsessed with something but I really like these cereal bowls. Does anyone here know how I can find these? Sainsbury does not seem to have them anymore. Thank you.

I don’t think they sell them anymore, but have you looked on ebay/Amazon for them?

I think Butterfly and Shore are my favourites. We have our own decor theme here – it is called “mess”.

I think most people have ‘mess’ don’t they – it’s a favourite in the kids’ bedroom – we have all sorts of colours and decor themes going on, it’s really rather wonderful. Ahem.

I get so much homeware from Sainsbury’s. They never disappoint. From their cushions and throws, to their office stationary. I love their designs and already have my eye on a few things here. x
