I love Easter – aside from getting the green light to scoff chocolate without the guilt trip (just me?), the arrival of Easter is associated with a new season, Easter hat competitions at school, bunny rabbits, daffodils and decorations.
I don’t need a great excuse to create, craft or decorate, so when I discovered that one of my favourite shops, HEMA, is offering a huge variety of Easter sweets, treats, crafts and decorations, I had to capitalise on this…
And ta-da…here’s the final result…
How did I go about creating such a wonderful masterpiece I hear you ask? Luckily I made a note so you too can follow the step-by-step plans using HEMA’s wonderful goodies to take your Easter creations from drab to fab!
I first baked 12 cupcakes (using a great recipe from Twitter.com/CakeyBakeGirl)
I put together HEMA’s Easter cake stand (£2.50)
– which was a piece of cake (pun intended!)

After placing the cupcakes on the stand, I (and my wonderful eight-year old helper), decorated them with the following accessories….
10-pack ‘Chicks on a Clip’ (£1.50)
Easter Marshmallows (£1.50)
6-pack Easter Egg Hangers (£2)
Chocolate mini Eggs Filled (£3.75 for 500 grams).

If you’re not into baking, HEMA has got a huge range of other crafting and decorating supplies, such as this Easter Egg Magic Wraps for a bargain £1.50 a pop!

Check out your nearest store location and opening times.

Disclaimer: HEMA provided me with the supplies listed and priced above. But to be fair, these are items that (as a thrifty mum always on the look out for a bargain), I would have happily purchased myself.
