1. This Month I'm Loving…
The wonderful range of travel suitcases, bags and accessories from TKMaxx. Sadly I’m unable to go abroad this year due to my treatment, but for my mega holiday (whatever it will be!) next year I’ve got my eye on this Jessica Simpson Orange Timeless Trolley Suitcases.
It’ll mean I spot the bags a mile off on the carousel and look like I mean business! Prices start from £49.99.
2. Something Unique…
How cute is this beach hut planter gift set? I’ve got something similar that I bought a few years ago in Lakeland, but I’m a fan of these mini planters!
It costs £19.99 and includes a grow-your-own mini kit – plus the roof is removable to keep your soil and seeds in.
3. Bargain Spot
We’ve recently updated our front door (I managed to bag a ‘smart’ composite front door – ex display for just £200 – worth over £1,000!) and I’ve been looking to update my doormat to finish off the look.
I spotted this country style printed coir doormat on B&M Bargains’ website for just £4.99 and it fits in with our country style house.
4. New launch
I’m loving all the bright colours that are on sale in the shops at the moment.
These colourful ice cream sundae cups from Wilko are a bargain £1.25 each and are perfect for picnics on the lawn, sweet treats and ice cream!
5. I've Got My Eye On….
I’ve been looking for a table that I can hide the clutter in and spotted this versatile white one from Groupon for just £46.98.
And if white’s not part of your colour scheme, it comes in other colours too including oak, grey, walnut and expresso.
1. Luxury for less
I’ve just been chatting with some neighbours about how much I enjoyed visiting Malta when I travelled there with work years and years ago – and was wondering how much it had changed since I last went.
I’ve said to VIP a few times that we should go to Malta for a holiday – even if it’s just for a few days. I think the kids would like the mix of the towns and beaches, plus you can get the ferry to Sicily in less than a couple of hours – a win-win!
Spotted some great deals for Malta on Travel Supermarket recently, with prices for less than £300 per person on bed-and-breakfast in a four-star hotel – now that’s great value for money.
2. UK Deal…
After having recently enjoyed afternoon tea at a nearby local farm, I’m keen to relive the experience – wherever and whenever possible! I really had forgotten how lovely afternoon tea really is.
If you’ve got a free afternoon and want to treat yourself, how about afternoon tea on the River Thames?
Bateaux London’s afternoon tea sessions feature a live pianist, plus the usual selection of sandwiches, scones, patisseries and a range of teas.
There are two options to choose from – the Willow Room or Glass Room, with prices starting from £36 per person.
3. Worldwide offer
Superbreak is offering some great Eurostar savings to Belgium and France, with two nights and return Eurostar starting from £199 per person.
It’s worth a look for a long weekend if you haven’t got the kids – or a short weekend if they’re in tow!
4. Bargain spot
How does a stay in a 17th century cottage sound in the New Forest? It sounds even better when I tell you that there’s 35% off the original price and that two people can now stay there for just £99 including a full English breakfast plus three small gin and tonics – to share on arrival!
The deal, which is available with Travelzoo, offers a stay in a Grade II Listed property a few minutes’ walk from the village of Brockenhurst. Nearby attractions include a visit to Lymington to sail on the Solent and a visit to Lyndhurst, which is full of gift shops, tea rooms and traditional pubs – around 10 minutes' drive away.
5. What's New?
If you didn’t know already (after following my social media posts!) I was recently privileged enough to enjoy a mini cruise on Celebrity Cruises’ Edge ship. Don’t ask me how I managed to wrangle that one – I don’t even know myself!
Anyhoo, since returning from my little jaunt, I’ve now convinced VIP that once I’ve been given a clean bill of health (fingers crossed for the end of the year!) I’d like the chance to go on a real cruise.
So, just to inspire me – and for something to look forward to, I’ve been checking out some of the new ships for next year including Celebrity’s new Apex cruise ship, which launches in April.
The cruise line has also got some great deals on – including its latest offer of free drinks and gratuities when booking an eligible ocean stateroom or above on select worldwide sailings by 28th August.
I’m hoping that by the time I come round to booking mine, they’ll still have some fab offers on.
