There’s something about the sea that’s mesmerising isn’t there? Maybe it’s because I’m a Cancerian (one of the water signs) that I feel a certain affinity with the waves… who knows?
But what I do know is that every year (usually around summer time!), the coastal theme makes a re-emergence into interior trends; whether it’s the bright, vivid colours that remind you of Punch and Judy shows, beach huts and deckchairs, or the more understated hues that reflect the colours of driftwood, pebbles and sandcastles…
Whatever your vibe, now you can get the look for less with Aldi, which is introducing its Coastal Home range on 15th June, part of its Specialbuys range, meaning that when they’re gone, they’re gone!
There’s a whole range of items to choose from – and I was lucky enough to get a sneak peek at some of the items available, starting with this lovely Beach Hut Doorstop for £4.99.
A Warm Welcome!
You won’t be missing this colourful doorstop propping open your door that’s for sure.
The blue and white colours are really striking and what I really love is the attention to detail; not only does it feature little buttons, but it also has little bunting running along one of the seams at the top – so very cute.
To complement the vivid colours of the doorstop, I opted for this Printed Runner (£6.99) and co-ordinating Printed Mat for £3.29.
What I particularly like about them is that their neutral colours suit most interior schemes, meaning you won’t feel the need to redecorate to introduce them into your home.
A Glass Act
One of the other items I had my eye on was this Kirkton House Decorative Lantern in light blue, which was a snip at £2.99.
For that price you can afford to pick up a few and line them up along a garden path or, like me, choose to hang them at eye-level to offer pops of colour above the ground.
You can even pop a tealight or candle inside so it acts as a source of light – or if you have young children then LED string lights are an alternative option.
Aldi has launched other coastal home ranges including those for the bathroom and the bedroom; in fact, you can get a total coastal home makeover for just £150, meaning that you’re not breaking the bank to get a whole new look!
Examples include a calming Coastal White Bathroom Tallboy for £49.99 and a Coastal Bathroom Cupboard for £29.99, to 400 thread count Sateen Duvet Sets for £24.99 and a Rope Wall Clock for just £6.99.
So, as the coastal trend sweeps the nation again this summer, it might just pay to push the boat out and make an effort to head to your nearest Aldi to stay ahead of the game.
